Entry is from a sandy shore that leads into a slope alive with coral blocks, pinnacles, and sponge gardens. When heading right, you’re treated to healthy reef and coral nursery teeming with fish.

This site is ideal for multiple dives, as its topography and sightings shift subtly with every visit. From its shallow coral gardens to deeper shelves, Lipah offers a relaxing yet engaging dive experience for all levels.

It's also a great place for snorkelers to spot green turtles, and also for mixed-experience groups, making it a favorite among families and photographers alike.

Lipah Coral Reef Restoration in Amed

Just ten minutes from our dive center, Lipah Beach is home to a coral reef restoration project.

Since 2016, Ocean Gardener’s team has been rebuilding this precious ecosystem, planting more than 10,000 corals with sustainable restoration techniques in Lipah Bay.

To date, the restoration site is composed of 2 coral nurseries, one at 6 meters and one at 16 meters, cultivating a diverse range of 54 coral species. It is a beautiful reminder that healthy reefs can come back, one coral at a time.

Common sighting in Lipah Bay

Lipah Bay is a marine mosaic. Expect to see green turtles grazing on algae, blue-spotted stingrays gliding across the sand, and lionfish hovering in coral shadows.

Anemonefish colonies and nudibranchs pepper the reef, while the deeper zones also knows as shark point occasionally shelter juvenile white-tip reef sharks beneath table corals at 30 meters depth.

Large coral pinnacles attract fusiliers and butterflyfish, and the site’s colors are especially stunning in natural light. Lipah is a dream for those who love coral diversity and fish-rich scenes without strong currents.
