Bunutan dive site description
Bunutan Wall also known as The House of Baraccudas dive site, offers one of Amed’s most exhilarating drift dives. Typically accessed by boat, this site features a gently sloping reef that turns into a wall, cascading with sea fans, barrel sponges, and table corals.
Currents often build here, carrying divers effortlessly along the slope as the underwater landscape unfolds like a living mural. You’ll start in the shallow garden eel fields and descend into richer reef zones filled with color and movement.
Toward the end of the dive, pinnacles rise toward the surface, offering shelter to juvenile reef sharks and other big reef fish. With its combination of current, depth, and marine life, this site is best suited for experienced divers ready to fly.
Common sighting in Bunutan
The abundance of life at Bunutan Wall is thrilling. Schools of barracudas and giant trevallies patrol the blue, while octopuses and moray eels hide in coral overhangs.
Garden eels sway in the shallows, and deeper down, keep an eye out for honeycomb morays and reef sharks resting under coral shelves.
Macro lovers can spot nudibranchs and shrimp among the sponges, but it’s the big fish and fast pace that define this dive. It's a favorite for underwater photographers looking to capture movement and dramatic topography.
