What you will learn during the course

The Basic Diver is a half-day scuba experience that introduces you to diving without committing to a full certification. You’ll learn key skills, then go on a real dive.


Your scuba diving journey starts with a gentle briefing and equipment setup before heading into the water. You’ll begin in shallow depths, learning essential skills like clearing a mask and breathing calmly. 


Once you feel confident, your instructor will take you to explore Amed and Tulamben dive sites for 2 dives or even to the iconic USAT Liberty Wreck.

How much cost the Basic Diver Program in Amed

The SSI Basic Diver experience in Amed is IDR 1.500.000 for 2 dives or IDR 1.000.000 for 1 dive.

Basic Diver Program schedule


The Basic Diver is a half-day scuba experience that introduces you to diving without committing to a full certification. You’ll learn key skills, then go on a real guided dive up to 12 meters. No prior experience required.


01. Dive Briefing

We meet at the morning and before diving, you’ll receive a detailed briefing by your instructor covering equipment use, ear equalization, underwater communication, and safety procedures.


02. Underwater Skills

We'll then practice some shallow water diving skills to help you build your confidence and comfort underwater. The skills are such as regulator recovery and mask cleaning, underwater swimming, and buoyancy practice.


03. Exploration dives

Then enjoy one or two open water dives that same morning, supervised by your instructor. Each dive, up to 12 meters deep, lasts approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on your air consumption.

04. Lunch and Debriefing

After your dives, we sit down for a Balinese lunch and take time to reflect on the experience. Your instructor will lead a friendly debriefing session, identify marine life you saw, and answer any questions. You'll also log your dives, turning each one into a meaningful memory.
