Your SSI Open Water Diver certification is internationally recognized and valid for life, allowing you to dive up to 18 meters anywhere in the world.
The course takes 3 days to complete, blending diving theory, confined water practice, and 4 open water dives, all paced to match your comfort and confidence.
01. Diving Theory
You’ll start by learning the foundations of scuba diving, from dive planning and safety essentials to understanding the marine life you’ll encounter underwater.
All theory is delivered online through the SSI e-learning platform, so you can study at your own pace and own language, whenever and wherever it suits you.
We recommend getting started before your trip. Just reach out to us, and we’ll set you up with your e-learning access.
02. Pool Training & Confined Water
Once you’re ready, we’ll move into the water to practice essential skills. Training takes place either in a swimming pool or in calm, shallow ocean conditions, like a protected bay with a gentle beach entry.
It’s the perfect setting to build confidence, get comfortable with your gear, and learn to move with ease underwater.
03. Open Water Dives
With your skills in place, it's time to explore the ocean and continue learning in real diving conditions.
You’ll complete 4 open water training dives at stunning dive sites in Amed or Tulamben, chosen to suit your comfort and progression. On each dive you will continue to practice the skills previously learned during the confined water session.
Most of your Open water courses finish with a final dive at the legendary USAT Liberty shipwreck, an unforgettable milestone in your dive journey!
04. Lunch and Debriefing
After the dives, we gather back at the dive center to relax and refuel with a tasty local Balinese meal, included in your course. It's a moment to share stories, ask questions, and review what you experienced underwater.
Your instructor will guide you through a a dive debriefing, identifying marine species you encountered, discussing your progress, and helping you log your dives for future reference.

This scuba diving course is designed for beginners looking to get certified, and learn how to scuba dive.
Whether you're seeking a new adventure, ticking off a must-do on your Bali holiday, or sharing a special moment with family, this course is made for you. We keep things safe, personal and relaxed. This is more than a course, it’s the start of your dive story.
No prior experience is needed, but you should feel comfortable in the water and be able to swim 200 meters.
The minimum age is 10 years old, and you’ll need to complete a short medical questionnaire before starting.
