Jepun House Reef dive site description
Right in front of our dive center, Jepun House Reef is a site we know better than anyone.
This dynamic reef features coral plateaus, a mini wall, and a deeper slope, all just a few fin kicks from shore. Massive sea fans, healthy table corals, and colorful sponges dominate the shallows (5–15 m), while the wall and slope beyond drop to 45 m.
When timed with the tide, it’s a fantastic site for drift diving or even to finish a dive that begins in Jemeluk Bay. Because we dive here often, we know where the action is, from cleaning stations to rare critter hangouts. It's a site that always delivers, especially when conditions align.
Common sighting in Jepun House Reef
Expect the unexpected on Jepun House Reef. Turtles often stop by, and the reef is a feeding ground for larger pelagics like eagle ray, barracuda and giant trevallies. Regular encounters include leaf scorpionfish, stingrays, octopus, and moray eels.
The coral fans and crevices are home to macro treasures like nudibranchs and shrimps, while reef sharks may be seen cruising the deeper edges.
For underwater photographers, the changing light, coral variety, and curious marine life offer a rich canvas right at our doorstep. When the conditions are right, it’s one of Amed’s most versatile and rewarding dive sites.
