USAT LIBERTY WRECK (depth 5 - 27 m)

USAT Liberty Wreck is an American cargo ship which was torpedoed by the Japanese under the Second World War. It was toved towards Singaraja but only made it to Tulamben where is was left on the beach for more than 20 years. When Mt Agung erupted in 1963, the skip was pushed back into the water. That is why it's only 30 meters from shore sitting on the slope. Many parts of the wreck have colapsed and therefore no possibilities of penetrating the wreck anymore. But you still have some nice swim throughs (the rudder, and around the cargo room). It's covered in corals and full of life. The big humphead parrot fish sleep on the wreck, so early morning is where we have the best chance of seeing them.
